For 2009, the 5 Yellow Star sits in the North sector and is seen as troublesome and volatile. Unfavourable characteristics of the 5 Yellow Star are loss of health, relationships, misfortune and mishaps. The Five Star doesn’t have a gender or Chinese Trigram – unlike the other 8 Lo Shu Stars.

The 5 Yellow Star for Feng Shui sits in the North for 2009

The North is associated with Water (number 1 in the Lo Shu square), which 'insults' Earth in the 5 Element Cycle. As with all of the annual afflictions, avoid construction, maintenance or digging up the ground in the exterior or doing renovations, maintenance and DIY in the interior. In general limit any noisy activities in this sector for the current year.

If this Northern sector is by an entrance, window or door, hang a wind chime with 5 hollow metal tubes to help weaken this star - as Metal drains Earth in the Element cycle. Other areas where this 5 Star may be of concern are in a home office or bedroom.

You can also use the Metal Element with symbolism, objects and colours in this sector. Avoid using symbolism or colours that enhance the Earth or Fire Elements in the North sector for 2009.

A great area for drains, bathrooms, WCs, storage, spare rooms, cupboards etc.
