4 Annual Afflictions

The are 4 annual afflictions are
Tai Sui
– The Grand Duke of Jupiter
Sui Po
– The Year Breaker
Wu Huang
– The 5 Yellow Star
San Sha
– The Three Killings
These are seen as being unfavourable sectors during times of construction, renovation and when seated towards or away from these directions (depending on the affliction).
The roots of these afflictions come from the 8 cardinal directions and the 12 Earthly Branches commonly known as the 12 Chinese Animals.

Each year the 4 afflictions move into another sector on the compass. This year runs from 22 December 2007 until 21 December 2008 (some methods follow the Chinese year from 4 February 2008 to the 4 February 2009).
This is where the ‘Time Factor’ comes into Feng Shui. Every year subtle changes occur as the 9 Lo Shu numbers move into different sectors in their mathematical sequence. This provides another layer for analysis in your property that can be checked annually.
